Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I first heard of Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation from Youtuber Sammi Maria, who if you read my blog regularly you'll know I'm obsessed with! She introduced it in one of her recent videos and since then I've noticed it being advertised everywhere. At a costly £30 I was hesitant at first to spend so much on a product I had never tried. Thankfully, when I went to Estee Lauder makeup counter during my stay in Plymouth, the kind makeup expert behind the counter matched my skin tone to a shade (Ecru) and gave me a fairly large sample to try.

I wore foundation from the sample I was given for the next couple of weeks and I absolutely fell in love. Although I was still a bit hesitant, as I've been known to try samples that I love and buy the full product that I end up really disliking, I felt more confident in this product and decided to give it a shot. Best. Decision. Ever.

I can honestly say that this foundation is the best one I have ever used and I've used a lot! Although the bottle appears quite small, it contains 30ml of product which lasts a very long time. You only need the tiniest amount to cover your entire face and blend into your neck. To me, it seemed very high coverage but extremely light-weight which I loved. I could barely tell it was there, a huge difference to my usual Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation which can sometimes feel a bit 'caked on'.

Another plus is how long lasting it is. The packaging claims that it lasts up to 15 hours and I can definitely vouch for that. I get up and do my makeup at about 8am every week day, ready for sixth form, and don't get home until 6-7pm most nights because of work. I'll then leave my makeup on usually until right before I go to bed which will often be between 10 and 12. When I'm just about to take it off at the end of the day, it always looks exactly the same as when I originally applied it 14-16 hours earlier. It's brilliant and gives me a lot of confidence in myself! I've also been finding that I've been using less powder with this foundation. Although I still apply a little bit in the morning to set it, I never have to reapply it throughout the day.

The colour also never comes of on clothing! I wear a lot of turtle necks and even though I'm still cautious whenever I'm changing, I don't have to worry so much about my makeup coming off or the foundation leaving a stain on clothing. The only downside to this product is the packaging. It's very delicate, or in other words, if you drop it it will smash. It also has an open top which is going to take me some getting used to as I have been using foundation pumps for the last few years.

Despite the lack of foundation pump (which you can buy separately if you really feel that you need one) I give this foundation a 10/10. The price is expensive, but I think it's worth it to know that you don't have to worry about your making base fading all day, which is especially nice if you're going out in the evening as well!

Let me know if you've tried this product and what your thoughts are!
