The Fashion Books You Have To Read!

So, as I'm sure you're all aware, Christmas has been and gone! A sad thought, but we've all got something to remember it by...presents! In my case, I was given 6 new fashion books which I've been dying to read and they're all amazing. So here they are...

1. In Vogue - £25 (Hardback) £91 (Paperback)

This massive 410 page book that's heavier than my mum (!) (!) (!) is the bible. Literally. The. Fashion. Bible. It goes into detail about the most iconic trends ever to be printed in Vogue, as well as including insights into Vogue covers.
2. Influence - £16.59

Written by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (Child Stars and Founders of the fashion line: THE ROW), this book gives an insight into the fashion industry through the eyes of these two largely successful women. You see all their inspirations, first designs, written interviews and photographs of the twins themselves!
3. Vintage Fashion Source Book - £5.99

This small little book is a collection of the major fashion trends throughout the decades. Starting in the 1900s and going all the way up to the 1980s, every single iconic style is recorded with pictures and a brief analysis. This book is perfect for any girl who loves vintage shopping or has the lovely Dawn O'Porter as an inspiration (like me!).
4. IT - Alexa Chung - £10 (Hardcover) £6.29 (Paperback)

This book is full of Alexa Chung's own personal inspirations and things that made her the person she is today. Although there's not much to read (I finished in an hour and a half!!!) it is really inspiring and puts you in the mind of Alexa herself. The photography included is beautiful, honestly, I'd buy it just for that!

5. The Little Black Book of Style - Nina Garcia - £10.39

Completely opposite to IT, this book is a loooong read! It's also one of those books where you either love it or hate it. The author Nina Garcia (Project Runway, Elle Magazine) is very opinionated and has a l-o-t to say, so if you need distracting, are going on a long trip or just find yourself interested..this is a good read!
6. Fashion From The 18th To The 20th Century - £5

Lastly, this book is very detailed! It's perfect for any of you studying fashion design, fashion journalism (for the history aspect), or any textiles qualification. It explains in intricate detail how famous pieces were thought of, designed and made. It's not a light read, but handy to have around if you're studying this subject!
So those are the fashion books I received over the Christmas holidays! They're all great and if you're interested in fashion you should definitely check them out. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
