Avon Blush Review

My mum bought me an Avon blush when she used to work for Avon. She got a discount plus the blush was in the sale section so it only cost like 50p. It was obviously a really good deal so I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't too optimistic about it because I thought it was in the sale section for a reason. Turns out I must have been wrong because it's actually pretty good. It stays on exactly as I applied it for about 3 hours and then slowly starts to fade. I find that this is long enough for me (if you want it to last longer try MUA's Pro-Base Fixing Mist which I also did a review on) and it really makes my face look a bit more happy and perky rather than being quite pale and gloomy and it doesn't have that 'fake' look. I have it in the shade of 'Soft Plum'. In the packaging it looks like a sparkly pink that I wouldn't normally go for, but once it's on it doesn't sparkle like I assumed it would, it actually looks quite natural and the colour is perfect for my skin tone! The packaging is pretty good because it comes with a mirror and a brush so it's great if you're an on the go girl. I personally prefer to use a different brush, but if I can't fit my brushes in my bag or I simply can't find my brush I'll use this one. It takes a little more time to apply and smooth as it comes out in a square line shape, but it's easily accessable.

Newspaper Nails!

I read about 'Newspaper Nails' in Shout magazine and was desperate to try it! My friend came over and we decided to give it ago. It took about half an hour, but was really fun! It's really hard to get it on perfectly as you can see from the picture that it's a bit messy. After you clean it up it looks fantastic! It's really original nail art and really simple to do!
Step 1: Cut up 10 2cm strips of newspaper (one for each nail)
Step 2: Get a small shallow bowl and put some hand sanitizer in it.
Step 3: Coat all nails in a clear base coat.
Step 4: Once the clear nail polish has dried add a coat or two of white nail polish.
Step 5: Once it has dried dip the first nail into the hand sanitizer, pull it out, and hold one strip of newspaper (that you cut out earlier) on your nail for about a minute. To help keep brushing your finger over the newspaper to leave a better print.
Step 6: Slowly peal off the newspaper to see the print. Then repeat on all other nails.
Step 7: Once they are dry add a clear coat to set the print which should make it last longer.

It was really fun to do I would recommend it as a fun thing to do when you're bored, but make sure you give yourself enough time to do it before going out and allow time to re-do it in case it doesn't turn out right the first time which is what happened to my friend.

Collection 2000 Pump up the Volume Mascara Review

I bought this mascara because I desperately needed a new one as my MUA one had run out. I saw my friend using this one and her eyelashes always look so long so I thought I'd give it a go. It was 4.99 and to be honest, I thought this was a bit expensive as the mascara was just as good as the previous 3.00 MUA one I used. However, this mascara has a pretty cool brush which is curved which makes the entire brush cover all your eyelashes instead of just one section.

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist Review

I was hesitant to buy this at first because it cost a bit more than the average cheap MUA products. This fixing mist was five pounds which is a difference to the normal one pound products MUA has available. I ended up deciding to try it and I'm glad I did! It works like a charm! Before I used this my makeup wouldn't last more than four hours and now it lasts up to ten. Although it makes your face feel really damp when you first spray it, it drys quickly and feels normal for the rest of the day. I now come home with my makeup looking exactly the same as it did when I left the house. I also find that it works just as well as the more expensive Maybelline fixing sprays. Give this one a go before splashing out on the more expensive brands because this one does the trick!

Collection 2000 Liquid Eyeliner (fast stroke) Review

This is the best product I have ever bought, hands down! I'm not even over reacting! It's the best eyeliner I've ever used! It stays on as long as you want it to, and I'm not exaggerating. I stayed over at a friends house and forgot to take my makeup off, but when I woke up the eyeliner was still perfect and it looked exactly the same as it did 24 hours ago when I first applied it. With this eyeliner there is no need to re-apply or put any sort of extra coat on. You just apply it like you would any normal liquid liner. The brush is also really easy to use and it is quite thin so you can get to places that you may normally have to leave pale because your brush can't get to it. It's also really cheap as well at a price of 2.99! You can't go wrong! I will never change eyeliners, there is literally no flaw about it!

MUA Mega Volume Mascara Review

This mascara is actually pretty good! I thought for three pounds it would be okay and a one-time-buy product, but it turned out to be just as good as the high end brands! I love MUA products because they're all affordable prices and, like this mascara, are all amazing! I previously did a review on their extreme curl mascara and that was really good so I thought I'd try the Mega Volume Mascara. The brush was really thick and strong which is great to get coverage over all the eyelashes. It really does give your eyes some extra volume, but if you want it to be even more noticable I would suggest curling your eyelashes first. The packaging is similar and just as eye catching as Maybelline and Barry M mascaras which all have that fat round look about them.
