Rimmel London Stay Matte Mousse Foundation

I've seen hundreds of adverts for this foundation in so many magazines lately. It seems to be really popular yet nobody I know has tried it so I thought that I'd be the first.

At 5.99 it's already cheaper than my 7.99 foundation that I regularly buy. When I got home I put it on straight away. It's a bit thicker than I'm used to as I prefer liquid to mousse foundations.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I've been using Batiste's dry shampoo for a few months now and I have to say that I really like them. We all know that washing your hair every single day can be bad for it as it gets rid of it's natural oils which make it have less volume and shine. So what products can we use between washes that helps our hair out? I usually use a styling mousse or a thickening spray, but I was getting tired of it and a friend recommended these to me.

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

So I popped into boots before work on Saturday and noticed that they were doing a buy one get one half off offer on all makeup. I grabbed my normal powder (Rimmel London Pressed Powder - 004 Sandstorm - 3.99) and thought I'd try one of these as well. They've been really popular on beauty blogs lately so I wanted to see what all the hype was about.

Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil

Hello once again! So I'm going to be reviewing the Rimmel London Professional Eyebrow Pencil! At the small price of 2.99 this product is great for defining eyebrows.

The pencil has a brush on the end of the lid which is helpful when shaping the eyebrows before applying the product. *Helpful Tip: Put a small amount of hairspray on the eyebrow brush and then use to help eyebrows stay shaped all day.* The brush is a little bit of an added bonus to the actual product.

Beauty Box Swap!

Hello everyone! I recently did a beauty box swap with the lovely Rachel over at... http://whatrachloves.blogspot.com
Please go check out her blog to see what I got her in the beauty box I sent! Her post showing what I got her is up and live! Here is a direct link to it, if you want to go check it out...
http://whatrachloves.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/beauty-box-swap.html
Rachel's blog is really well written, designed, and is honestly so helpful! I've been reading her blog for a while now and it was so much fun to do a beauty box swap with her!

How amazing are all those products?!?! Just by looking at them I get excited! Our budget for this beauty box swap was only fifteen pounds so it was a bit of a challenge to find good quality products at such low prices! Now you can see that Rachel did an amazing job. Let me talk you through some of the fab things she bought!

Simple Skincare Products!

I bought these a couple of months ago as they were on a 3 for 2 offer. I previously used Simple's makeup remover wipes and they were really nice on my skin so I thought that since these were on offer that I'd give them a go.

Collection 2000 Haul!

So this is my Collection 2000 haul! I have previously done reviews on a few of these products before, but I wanted to post about them as a haul as well since I bought all of these products at the same time. I really love Collection 2000's makeup because it's at an affordable price and is good quality.

Barry M Glitter Nail Paint Review!

Hello! A while ago I was getting some products for my first ever beauty box swap - don't worry, you'll see all about this in another post - and I bought two Barry M Glitter Nail Paints to put in the package. I liked the look of them so much that I bought two for myself! I hadn't had a chance to try them until the other day. I've only tried one of the two I bought. This one is known as 'amethyst'.

Liebster Award!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I've been awarded the Liebster Award for new bloggers! I was nominated by the lovely Rain Chan - http://rainxdropz.blogspot.sg/

If you don't already know the Liebster award is an award you can receive if you're a blogger with under 200 followers. It's a bit like a chain award. If you've got the Liebster award then you've been nominated by someone else who has the Liebster award that likes/enjoys reading your blog. You can only be awarded the Liebster award if you have under 200 followers.

Barry M Haul!

As you can see, this is a bit of a mini haul. I had just over ten pounds to spend and I was dying to try Barry M's glitter nail paints. They were on a 3 for 2 offer so I couldn't resist. The lipstick and gloss was a weakness on my part! I couldn't not give them a try!

MUA Power Pout Review

If you read my blog regularly you'll know I'm a big fan of MUA, especially their lip products. I was browsing the superdrug website to look at some of their lipsticks when I came across their Power Pouts. The reminded so much of Clinique's Chubby Sticks. I just couldn't resist them so I bought two as they were on a buy 2 for 4 pounds offer and they're 3 pounds each so that's a pretty good deal (yes - I sound like a shopaholic)! As they were quite cheap, as MUA's products usually are, I didn't expect them to last longer than MUA's normal lipsticks which only last about an hour and a half so when I wore them out I was surprised to look in the mirror after 5 hours of shopping and find the colour still there. Let me tell you - it was a pleasant surprise. These Power Pouts also have a really nice smell. I placed it the other day as it smelling like watermelon, don't ask me why!

Avon Blush Review

My mum bought me an Avon blush when she used to work for Avon. She got a discount plus the blush was in the sale section so it only cost like 50p. It was obviously a really good deal so I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't too optimistic about it because I thought it was in the sale section for a reason. Turns out I must have been wrong because it's actually pretty good. It stays on exactly as I applied it for about 3 hours and then slowly starts to fade. I find that this is long enough for me (if you want it to last longer try MUA's Pro-Base Fixing Mist which I also did a review on) and it really makes my face look a bit more happy and perky rather than being quite pale and gloomy and it doesn't have that 'fake' look. I have it in the shade of 'Soft Plum'. In the packaging it looks like a sparkly pink that I wouldn't normally go for, but once it's on it doesn't sparkle like I assumed it would, it actually looks quite natural and the colour is perfect for my skin tone! The packaging is pretty good because it comes with a mirror and a brush so it's great if you're an on the go girl. I personally prefer to use a different brush, but if I can't fit my brushes in my bag or I simply can't find my brush I'll use this one. It takes a little more time to apply and smooth as it comes out in a square line shape, but it's easily accessable.

Newspaper Nails!

I read about 'Newspaper Nails' in Shout magazine and was desperate to try it! My friend came over and we decided to give it ago. It took about half an hour, but was really fun! It's really hard to get it on perfectly as you can see from the picture that it's a bit messy. After you clean it up it looks fantastic! It's really original nail art and really simple to do!
Step 1: Cut up 10 2cm strips of newspaper (one for each nail)
Step 2: Get a small shallow bowl and put some hand sanitizer in it.
Step 3: Coat all nails in a clear base coat.
Step 4: Once the clear nail polish has dried add a coat or two of white nail polish.
Step 5: Once it has dried dip the first nail into the hand sanitizer, pull it out, and hold one strip of newspaper (that you cut out earlier) on your nail for about a minute. To help keep brushing your finger over the newspaper to leave a better print.
Step 6: Slowly peal off the newspaper to see the print. Then repeat on all other nails.
Step 7: Once they are dry add a clear coat to set the print which should make it last longer.

It was really fun to do I would recommend it as a fun thing to do when you're bored, but make sure you give yourself enough time to do it before going out and allow time to re-do it in case it doesn't turn out right the first time which is what happened to my friend.

Collection 2000 Pump up the Volume Mascara Review

I bought this mascara because I desperately needed a new one as my MUA one had run out. I saw my friend using this one and her eyelashes always look so long so I thought I'd give it a go. It was 4.99 and to be honest, I thought this was a bit expensive as the mascara was just as good as the previous 3.00 MUA one I used. However, this mascara has a pretty cool brush which is curved which makes the entire brush cover all your eyelashes instead of just one section.

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist Review

I was hesitant to buy this at first because it cost a bit more than the average cheap MUA products. This fixing mist was five pounds which is a difference to the normal one pound products MUA has available. I ended up deciding to try it and I'm glad I did! It works like a charm! Before I used this my makeup wouldn't last more than four hours and now it lasts up to ten. Although it makes your face feel really damp when you first spray it, it drys quickly and feels normal for the rest of the day. I now come home with my makeup looking exactly the same as it did when I left the house. I also find that it works just as well as the more expensive Maybelline fixing sprays. Give this one a go before splashing out on the more expensive brands because this one does the trick!

Collection 2000 Liquid Eyeliner (fast stroke) Review

This is the best product I have ever bought, hands down! I'm not even over reacting! It's the best eyeliner I've ever used! It stays on as long as you want it to, and I'm not exaggerating. I stayed over at a friends house and forgot to take my makeup off, but when I woke up the eyeliner was still perfect and it looked exactly the same as it did 24 hours ago when I first applied it. With this eyeliner there is no need to re-apply or put any sort of extra coat on. You just apply it like you would any normal liquid liner. The brush is also really easy to use and it is quite thin so you can get to places that you may normally have to leave pale because your brush can't get to it. It's also really cheap as well at a price of 2.99! You can't go wrong! I will never change eyeliners, there is literally no flaw about it!

MUA Mega Volume Mascara Review

This mascara is actually pretty good! I thought for three pounds it would be okay and a one-time-buy product, but it turned out to be just as good as the high end brands! I love MUA products because they're all affordable prices and, like this mascara, are all amazing! I previously did a review on their extreme curl mascara and that was really good so I thought I'd try the Mega Volume Mascara. The brush was really thick and strong which is great to get coverage over all the eyelashes. It really does give your eyes some extra volume, but if you want it to be even more noticable I would suggest curling your eyelashes first. The packaging is similar and just as eye catching as Maybelline and Barry M mascaras which all have that fat round look about them.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder Review

This powder is (to put it bluntly) just as good as any other. It's great because it's so easy to find the colour to match your skin and to be honest it does look really pretty. The only issue I had with it was that it doesn't stay on very long. For me, it stayed on for about 3 hours. By the time the lunch bell rings (12:35) my entire face is back to normal. I don't know how it does it, but when it leaves my face it takes some foundation with it and leaves my face looking very blotchy. This doesn't happen with everyone though. A friend of mine wears this and it stays on all day for her. I think this is because she's not very active. She's into things like reading magazines and chilling out. I love doing that, but I have a need to be a bit more extreme. I run, rock-climb, indoor skydive, go kart, etc. So if like to keep it calm and relaxed, I'd recommend this powder. If you spend a lot of time outside, I wouldn't recommend this at all. It'll blow off your face as soon as you step out the door!

MUA Extreme Curl Mascara Review

I'm a big fan of MUA products! They are great if you're on a tight budget (which I usually am)! This mascara only cost me two pounds and I love it! The packaging is really futuristic and the actual brush is so unique. The brush is slightly bent which lets you get a really good curl on your eyelashes and makes it fast as well because it can reach all your eyelashes in one sweep. This is my "on the go" mascara which I always leave in my bag. It's perfect for that because I wouldn't want to be using eyelash curlers on the bus/car/etc and it's so easy to apply! The only downside is that it can be a tiny bit clumpy toward the end (easily fixable by applying another coat) but what do you expect for a two pound mascara?

Ulta Lipstick Review

I bought four shades on Ulta lipstick when I was living in America and bought them back to UK before I'd even tried them, BIG MISTAKE! If I was still living in America I would have taken them back to the shop for a refund. The colours are very deceiving. I chose the colour "Mauve Shimmer" which looked like a nice brown-red colour. I even tested it on my hand and it was a good colour, but as soon as I put it on my lips the colour changed immediately to a maroon with small hints of orange! Adding to the disappointment the lipstick literally lasted 20 minutes. I put it on just before getting on the bus into town. The bus ride is just under 20 minutes so before we got off I took out my mirror and the lipstick was no where to be seen!

Vaseline: Rosy Lips Review

Vaseline...Pretty much everyone uses this product or one similar like chapstick, but does it actually do anything? Yes, it leaves your lips soft and hydrated for a few hours, but after that they just get dry again. You may as well put on a few coats of lipgloss. I find that vaseline does nothing for my lips. I bought the Rosy Lips Vaseline in hope that it would be better then the other flavours, but in my opinion it is the same if not worse. It doesn't give you rosy lips as it is labelled and smells/tastes really bad. Some of you may say - you're not supposed to taste it! But when it's on your lips you can't exactly not taste it, can you? I enjoyed this product for the first hour it was on my lips and then I ditched it, not a good product.

Barry M Lipstick Review

I was in desperate need of a lipstick, but I needed one that lasted for a good 4+ hours. I was debating whether or not to buy Maybelline's 14 hour stay lipstick but I thought the prices were really high for a lipstick. I eventually chose this Barry M lipstick in shade 153 which is a bright pink (but not neon). It was half the price of Maybelline's 14 hour stay lipstick and just as good quality! Although it didn't stay on for 14 hours, it stayed on or a good 5-6 hours which is exactly what I needed. The colour stays as vibrant as it was when first applied. There is a wide range of colours from this lipstick which is great if you want a good variety. The only downside to this lipstick was that it made my lips quite dry. You couldn't visually see that my lips were dry but I could feel it. Overall this product was really good and I would buy it again!
